Ok after 23 years of rigid frame bikes I wanna build a barkolounger, a cushy rear suspension lazy boy of a bike that I can haul the ol' lady around with on 1,000 mile rides. I wanna keep it non bagger like, yet old man retirement bike cushy. Anyone have pics of such creatures? I'd love to see them so I can get an Idea of what I want to build. Hell I might even go with a TC Evo. Yes I said EVO . Swing arm is sounding better then softtail to me right now.

Cool, I've love to see some pics. I was thinking maybe a FXR frame so I can keep it really low. I wonder if you can shove a TC Evo into a FXR frame????? Hmmmm.....

Ain't got pics right here handy but I'm building one for myself....1978 HD FX, lowered rear with 11" shocks, lowered front, FL tins all around, no gauges. What I guess you'd call a mild custom. My friend JW is doing the same with a 93" stroker shovel motor.

Yeah I have always loved the FXR frames, You can do a hell of a lot to them. Now if I find out you can shove a TC in them this my start to get really interesting

I ride a 91 FXR. My cuz rides a 96 FXLR (or some shit). My uncle rides an 88 Road King. I'm pretty partial to my bike, but after getting out on both their bikes for some serious miles i am convinced that the FXR is the best bike to come out of the factory. I won't even ride their bikes anymore. I rode it to frisco and back with little more than a cramp in my throttle hand. Very comfy, handles great, and almost no vibration at speed. Plus, if you can get a TC in it, you might as well go for the S&S 124. You'd be the happiest, and fastest man alive! I run a 96", bored & stroked, and my buddies who ride hot rod sporty's have a hard time keeping up. I outweigh em by 80 lbs.

Just a great fucking bike. I don't run into many people on FXR's, but the one's i do say they would never trade... Another uncle has an 88 FXR that he pulled out from under a truck, fixed it up, and says its the best ride he's ever had after riding for 30+ years.

Hahaha...sorry for being a fucking FXR salesman! As you can see, i dig the bike. If you can find one, snatch it up.

ok, the white one is mine...not lowered yet, just got the new tubes, shocks are on the way, front fender isn't mounted...FX frame, WG front end w/3 degree raked trees, stock motor & 4 speed trans

and you keep mentioning a TC Evo...the twin cams and evos are way different, you know. Engine and tranny mounts are entirely different.

But there are adapters to put a TC motor in an EVO frame. Uses an evo top mount, tranny, exhaust, and primary. Offset is different so you gotta wiggle it around with primary spacers, tranny mount plates, etc. depending on what size tire you're using.

in that case you just need a 1/4" tranny offset plate and a 1/4" pulley spacer
it'll work with 130 to 160 rear tires

not too sure if i have the budget for a motor like that. Its gonna be a low bufget build. I may just source out a used TC motor. I'm in no rush to build it. Its just a new project I want to start. I'll hunt and peck for the frame, motor, parts, etc etc. But its good to know they make a evo mount TC!

if your gonna spend the BIG money on an S&S 124, they make a twin cam version with standard evo mounts

if you are building a swingarm bike to be functional and comfy, dont slam it on the ground...lowering a fxr or whatever that low will be close to riding a rigid, you would be better off with a rigid fitted with a good spring seat.
