So I've ran into a problem removing my swingarm, 75 Ironhead if that helps. I made a video describing my problem if you guys could help me out here, can't get to the nut or bolt because of something in the way thatooks to be connected to the piece that the shifter is connected to. I'm a dumbass so... April 22, 2022

Take your brake pivot out of the way.

remove the kicker cover. remove the snap ring on the cross shaft lever and pull the linkage off. remove the shift lever. pull the cross shaft.out to the right side ot the bike. then you can remove the swingarm bolt.

Nope 1975 and 1976 were a Rube Goldberg fix for the having to shift all production bikes on the left begining in 1975. It is there fore a shift shaft.

It helped, I removed the shifter and rear exhaust pipe, took a better look and saw a snap ring, got that off and it dropped, was able to get the swing arm off. Now I need to buy a snap ring and snap ring pliers.

Snap ring is a stock hardware store item and the snap ring pliers are needed more for taking that one off, it can be installed without the plier.

I bent it all to hell, don't have snap ring pliers but I will today, used needle nose and a knife to get it off.
