I decided on making an official build thread for my 74 ironhead with a 75 motor in it.
Trying to decide if I like how the tank sits .. Going to have to cut the tunnel but hey beats the same ole sporty tank and I might get an extra half gallon.
S&S has did a little update to their rods....In a effort to get much closer to matching the reciprocating weights they added beef to the front rod....
Nice.....Less work for me to do to get there...
Very lovely .010 pistons (Arias) from Jim's...Tis a dang shame that they can't be seen....... Although I would say that they sure will be felt......

Not all that Happy about seeing Hammer marks on the flywheels in the Pin (No Hit) Zone....
May be a problem with truing if the tapers are in bad shape...
Yep, that tank is getting a new tunnel and changing the cap and adding a latter petcock bung for Matt, it will be slighty wider at the bottom for the bigger sporty back bone...
Some One used Braze on the tabs!!! Had to grind ALL of it out so the weld will not crystalize!!!
His shed is so small . . he has to get down on his knees and reach through the window to work on his bike. lol That tank is going to look good either way you go.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could
be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
