Hey all. I remember someone posting some links to here from the HAMB in the past and I thought I'd sign up. I'm a 22 year old kid from Jersey who's finally gonna get off his ass and start riding. My dad's been into bikes all his life. His brothers too, they were always riding. I'ma get his 72 sportster from him. He's been riding a Dyna and the sportsters just taking up space under some blankets. I remember it being the coolest thing around when I was younger but looking at it now, it definitley needs some fixin up. Guess I'm just gonna poke around and read to get some ideas and learn a bit.

Cool shit, man. Check out the "Sportsters still don't suck..." thread. It'll have you breathin like an ironhead in no time. Welcome aboard.
Fuck... that thing is way cooler than my bike when I got it. Make it run and ride it like it is.
Ironheads rule. I've got a 72 as well and wouldn't trade it for shit.

it runs but needs some work. i know the clutch sticks and some gaskets are bad but it runs. i'm definitley gonna ride it as is but i'ma still look around for parts. definitley a step in a different direction than his rigids but it's still nice.
Flat track canidate!

-18's or 19's w/ dirt track tires
-Lowering
-Solo seat section
-One inch risers, super bars, and fork boots
-SuperTrap two into one high mount exhaust

Heck, it'd be cool lowered and w/ out the front fender & some drag bars too.

Great start.
Dude...Welcome.
