Greetings all.
Our porn website blocker at work didn't let me check out this site when it first launched, but for some reason I'm allowed here now. Modern technology- go figure.

I'm another HAMBer but pretty much a total hack with bike stuff.
Had a dirtbike as a kid, but never actually rode a street bike yet (that'll be changing soon).

In the fall I decided that I'd build a bike for the road in the style that I like. And as cheap as possible. So I talked a buddy into building XS650 chops in my kitchen (I don't have a garage).

Really our lofty goal was to put something together that wouldn't be totally embarassing to ride to the bar.

I posted some shots on the HAMB a few weeks ago...

Made a little bit of progress since then, but not a lot. Learning lots as I go, which has been the great part about this project.

Feel kinda like a poser with all the old time guys and serious builders here, but I'm happy to sit back, watch, and learn all that I can. And hopefully soon terrorize PA with cheap choppers.

The first photo is my buddy's chop, we just got done tacking the frame together. The black & white shot is my bike- I'm working on exhaust and controls. The photo was too big in color so making it B&W allowed me to upload.

Later-

Nappy...what's up? Good to see you over here. I love the way your new ride is turning out. Did you ever get those dishes washed? ;)

For those of you who haven't been keeping up with the 'kitchen build' of this bike, go on the HAMB and check it out or we'll see if we can get him to post the same progress photos over here. It's definitely worth seeing.

Uh-oh. No escaping the Douchebag crew.

I did shorten the forks- cut a little out of the springs and sunk the forks a little deeper into the triple trees. Seems like an easy way out, I'm hoping it won't create problems on the road. But I'm liking the stance.

I raked my bike a little too, but we're keeping the stock front wheel on my buddys (a 19", I believe) and decided not to rake his beyond stock.

Working on some fun stupid shit with the controls on mine now. Stuff that most sane people wouldn't waste the time on. Like putting a bicycle pedal on the kicker, etc. So far it's looking kinda cool, though. Will probably have some new pics in the next week or two for other curious XS chopping Jockey Journal dudes.

As for the dishes, nah. The welder has my dishwasher blocked in and the welder has priority in my kitchen.

Nappy's a good dude to have around. I'm glad his IP network's not confusing TheJJ with midget porn anymore. :)

Nappy the bike looks good, you are making some great progress, anybody that can weld and cook dinner in the same room and not get the flames mixed up is ok in my book. If we find you a steel shoe you think you will be ready to do some laps at Latimore.
