I've been thinking about doing one on 7/8 bars myself. It seems like it could be done without cutting/welding. Not that cutting and welding is all bad. If you could ream the bar to get rid of the seam weld bead (if it has one) it would give you a nice round spot to work with. Does anyone have pics of one before it's welded on? Maybe I can draw something up in CAD.
