Hey guys,
I did find some info while searching, but it was all from 08 or earlier, so I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck (good or bad) insuring a special construction bike lately.

Thinking more of liability, but I guess theft & collision are relevant as well.

I live in Florida, and built my own bike. It's titled as an '05 ASPT vehicle (assembled from parts)
The bike itself doesn't really fit on this forum (soft tail) but the issue does.

My regular insurance company would not insure my special construction bike. I called Progressive and got it handled in just a few minutes.

Lincoln General & Foremost Ins. are both real easy and inexpensive for special constructs.

Just tell them the engine (124) is a stock 80 to the best of your knowledge! DISclaimer ---Just kidding! But I'm pretty sure hot rod engine = hot rod premiums. It sure as hell does on a ski boat.

I agree with Byrd, geico worked for me too.

Geico and Progressive both will do Liability with no issues. If your wanting full coverage, Markel, State Farm will do it, but pricey.

State Farm wants you to also have another car/truck or your house with them.

I had my softail special construction insured with state farm on my title it said Kraft tech Super stock I guess because it had S&S cases and a Kraft tech frame but I paid $525.00 a year full covrage.

If I recall Allstate was Banned from doing business in the state of Texas, at one time. Not sure if thats still the case.

I got Mine insured with State Farm. At first, they hemmed & hawed. I told them that I had My other buke insured with them and all I wanted was Liability like I had on My other bike. They finally insured it for me. They did want pictures of it.

Im surprised to hear all the State farm coverage because they wouldnt do a special construction bike i had a few years ago. Any kind of coverage.

I have Farmers Ins. in CA. and it was no problem for special construction...payin about $280 yr for "basic legal" coverage.

Geico did my spec const because I had 2 bikes with them already. When policy came for renewal, the would not renew the spec const. I went to progressive with no trouble for all 3. Not sure why full coverage is an extra 1000 per year on spec const so it just has liablility at $100 per year.

Anyone that carries liability only...I guess you're not worried about your bike getting stolen, or destroyed in an accident.

State farm insured my special construction bike that is titled as a "paughco" for $27 full coverage off season, November-April and just under $200 May-October. I needed to insure my home and truck with them as well.
