"hypothetical" question

lets say you were drilling a hole in your backbone for a bung to mount your tank. lets also say the hole was off and needed to be ovaled to make the tank sit straight. would you have any issue welding up the resulting gap with your tig welder?

Make sure the weld is good an you'll be okay as far as structure goes
