"hypothetical" question

lets say you were drilling a hole in your backbone for a bung to mount your tank. lets also say the hole was off and needed to be ovaled to make the tank sit straight. would you have any issue welding up the resulting gap with your tig welder?

hypothetically I've never done this....

You will be fine, just weld it up.
