lets say you were drilling a hole in your backbone for a bung to mount your tank. lets also say the hole was off and needed to be ovaled to make the tank sit straight. would you have any issue welding up the resulting gap with your tig welder?

Hypothetically speaking, if the weld is good, he'll be better than ok. In a hypothetical world, ideally he should be good!

For mig your better with a little gap cause it doesn't heat the work as good as tig. Probobly...

my concern was the structural integrity. the bung is thick and it is essentially one piece with the backbone. so i think i should be good.
