lets say you were drilling a hole in your backbone for a bung to mount your tank. lets also say the hole was off and needed to be ovaled to make the tank sit straight. would you have any issue welding up the resulting gap with your tig welder?

No problem at all! Since it a "hypothetical" question :D

I am hypothetically glad this turned out hypothetically well.

my concern was the structural integrity. the bung is thick and it is essentially one piece with the backbone. so i think i should be good.
