Whats with all the washers/ spacers ?

I've made a spring compressor out of two old harley cluch plate's and three peace's of 5/16 allthread. worked great !

+1 'Cept I used 1/2" allthread in the clutch plate's bigger holes, and a wrap of duct tape around the center hole to keep from scratching the chrome.
