Look at the bottoms and you see how they come apart. The lower collar has to rotate 90 degrees to allow the eyelet to pass through. So build a compressor that will allow toy to turn the collar once it unseats from the edge of the eyelet and will allow it to release enough to remove all the spring tension. That means the compressor is pretty long!
