i have 1972 tiger, oif. just took the front forks off and can't seem to get the bearings on the bottom of the neck stem off. is there a trick to getting them off. i didn't want to force anything. actually i really didn't try very hard, figured i'd ask first. thanks in advance.

They aren't held on by anything other than tightness and probably old hardened grease, so shouldn't be that hard if you persevere.

I use two flat head screwdrivers and pry/lever them off working from opposing sides.

heat gun. will slide right off.

thanks guys, i got em off. thery were like you guys said, just stuck on. needed a little persuasian. i just wasn't sure if there was some type of retaining ring or clamp that i couldn't see. thanks again.
