I have a west eagle soloseat and 3" springs. And i am kinda stuck on how to fasten the springs on the seat in a good and clean way.. If i just bolt the springs onto the seat with a washer and a nut the spring will sit in a really shitty angle... have looked around for some good ideas but i seem to be the only one wit this problem... embarrasing...

Is there a chance you could use a couple of washers to shim the spring to come up with a better angle? I say this because I have a seat that the spring studs have part of the square of the carriage bolt protruding down where the spring seats and that is how I handled it.

I use old valve spring collars. The Triumph ones have steps on them and the springs set on them just right.

I placed the spring over the stud on the seat base....fished a washer in the spring onto the stud...put some locktite on the stud and ran the nut down. I assumed that was the way everyone did it.

They dont sit perfectly but once u put the other end on the perches its good to go.

Ive just used the usual method..but Ive seen websites selling "angled" stantions for weld on purposes...this might help.....

The studs are too far back on the lip of the seat on those West Eagles. It's a pain in the ass. And you're right to be concerned, if you have to bend the springs over to seat on the frame you're setting them up to fail prematurely. Only real option has been suggested: angled stantions. Or, alternatively, you can change the angle on the spring mounts on the frame. But either way, if you don't line up the eyelets, it won't last as long...

Have seen very few that actually are a straight on mount,,just about all seem to have some curve to them, not for nothing one you have one end secure you can bend them abit for a better angle.
