just a short story ...

passed bye a small scooter shop today - through the window i some glimmer in one corner of the shop

got in and pulled out 2 flake helmets and 5 bubble visors

the shop owner told me he had them since a couple of years but noone wants 'em

off course i took the whole lot

it's not like some of you guys pulling whole bikes out of a shed but made me happy anyway ...

I still find pretty nice older 1/2 helmets at yardsales and the swap meets around town . Little hidden gems can be had if you keep your eyes open and have a few bucks to through around !

No doubt about that. My neighbor had a garage sale. I looked over and saw an old metal flake helmet sitting there. I walked over, she said a $1.00 and I said will you take 50 cents ? Just kidding, I gave her the dollar

Is this bubble shield thing some kind of fad because I don't remember these being popular outside of the Jap bike commuter type rider crowd of the '70's ?

Watch out 'cause these are probably thin ABS plastic and certainly not fit for use.

Well, granted, a 60-70s fiberglass construction metalflake lid won't provide much in terms of life saving, but I've heard of happy ebayers buying these asian plastic helmets and finding out that they literally crack when accidentally dropped on the floor.

Cool garage deco though for the price
