VL for sure, 1935-36 (can't remember if 1934 had this style also) Left side chain cut out=74 (or 36 80") has the tab up top that mounts for a VL (sigle loop frame) not like the 4 holes on 36 knuckle and up, that used those around the frame clamps. Also the bottom in the front is pinched in (like a 45) for the single loop style VL frame. it should have the tail light schroud on the flip piece . IMHO

As Flatman says, it is VL. That type ran from '34-'36. It should have a tailight shroud though. The shroud was stock from '34-'38 on all models.
It appears to have been spliced from the vertical brace back. The rear braces are homemade and are backwards! The rear chainguard bracket missing, etc. The rear bracket should be riveted like the front one!
So it is basically half VL!!
