It's been a while, but I can finally get the build going again. Trans has already been done and is in the frame, so now I will put the rest of the bike together. Nothing has been left untouched. Frame was powdercoated black, and when it's done, it will essentially be a brand new 1981 FXWG. Pretty damn excited to have this back.

Nice!
I love those Wide Glides. I think they were some of the best looking bikes that came out of HD in the 80's. Can't wait to see it done!

Agreed!
I will probably have more in this build than what it will ever be worth. That being said, I know what I have. I wish the chrome showed better in the pics. The rocker covers are perfect. If you're on the east coast, Pro Plating in Decatur GA did the work for me and I'm shipping a few odds and ends to them to be done too. Great work, communication, etc. Good folks to deal with. I can't thank my friend Jeff Bicht enough for doing the motor and trans for me. He is one of the finest Harley mechanics I've ever known, and we've been friends for 20 years. I know the build will stretch to the end of the year and maybe beyond as I'll put it together as I can afford it. Good times!!
Gives a person a nice warm feeling when someone is reunited with a loved one.
Nice motor. Now, if you can talk the OL into letting you do the build in the bedroom, where you have had the frame for over a year, you will be in tit city. I love building on shag carpet, it soaks up the spilled oil, and keeps me from having to keep a grease rag in my back pocket.

Yeah, you know the background on this bike. The OL didn't like the bunk beds ideas so there would be more room to build bikes in the bed room. When I told her I was going to move the dresser so I could put the front end on, she about shit a brick. As you know, it's in the basement now!:D
May be best "NOT" to go this far....

Living in the Dog House ain't very Comfy...
