want to enter the triumph in the 2012 gnrs, can somebody point me in the right direction? which building are they having the bikes,and should i enter there or in the suede palace? does the suede palace judge bikes,and does the suede palace have the same display theme as the rest of the show,and is the judging criteria the same as far as build books,show cards,etc..

Hey nate -

Im not sure about entering a bike into the GNRS but a few fellows on the other side of the state have entered cars into it. I can find out more if you want. Bike looks awesome BTW

the bikes are usually grouped together in building 4, the suede palace is building 5.
British bikes are put in the metric class, don't argue with that, it won't do any good.
a British bike can't win the "America's Most Beautiful Motorcycle" award, that has to be an American bike. the best any British bike can get is "Best overall M/C".

If you are into Hot Rods it is certainly is something you should see at least once in your life, it is a 3 day event so take some time with it, I think the only bikes allowed in the suede palace are vendor's bikes, any of the actual bikes entered in the show for judging are grouped up with all the other bikes in building 4, last year 2011 there was only about a total of 15 bikes in the show.
The main awards are for 1st and 2nd place in class, and then there are awards for Best Detail, Best Engine, Best restored, Best Race bike as well as the Best Overall Motorcycle and America's most beautiful motorcycle.
In 2010 we were lucky, we entered two bikes in the same class, and won 1st and 2nd as well as Best Detail, Best engine, and the Best Overall M/C with these bikes...

We're going this time. been in contact with Brian.We're doing a NonComp.entry. this is a wet dream but i'd love to see a display of 20 Denver's choppers 1 Denver's trike surounded with pic's and other Denver related items on display with our 3 restored magazine bikes right in the center in front of the original shop sign from the West Rialto Av. address.

The GNRS is one of the more "seriously" judged shows out there. The great thing about it from my experience is that for the most part it is not judged by a couple guys walking around and deciding which bike they like and conspiring to make the judging sheets add up like the El Camino College and Hanford shows have been in the past. The judges do not react to the "celebrity" of the entrant or the "cool factor" of a builder. They have a set of criteria and they usually have judges that have been looking at bikes for a long, long time.

So get all your nuts and bolts squared away, make all your polishing match, get your pipes straight and detail the crap outta that sucker.

It can be a very humbling or rewarding experience and in the end if you win, it actually means that you have built a great bike, not just chronicled a build thread on this board and had people swing off your nuts day after day.
