Garage Magazine #10

Just picked up the first Pay Up Sucker Publications issue of Garage. I have yet to go through the whole mag, but production is top notch. The mag looks great. Very nice. I read about 50 mags a month (no shit, and yes I'm a freak) and this thing is as well put together as any. It is also apparent that JJ hasn't stomped all over Stoners style as the mag remains the way it was.

Of course I picked it up at JJ's number one outlet, Wal-Mart. I usually don't shop at Wal-Mart, but was there by chance. Regardless of what you think of Jesse James, this cat is the next Oprah or Martha Stewart. Hands in lotsa pies. You gotta applaud the guy cause you know the industry needs a mag like this, well written, beautiful layout, excellent production. The Horse is a literary mess, and the other shit is, well shit unless you like that crazy 80's pro street chopper shit. Did I mention most of the other bike rags are shit?

Dice and Garage to the rescue. If they would only send the Nov. issue that was returned non-deliverable.

Thanks for steppin' in Mr. James and spreadin' the word.

Ahhhhhh, psychedelic titties! Just what we were missing. Thanks Matt!
I did buy the new Garage Mag.

I was happy to see that even with the buyout (from my experience as an editor and a publisher in the past - this was a smart move for Garage) the book still looks like it has all the ingredients that made it great - i.e. stories, artwork, and a bit of street grit and style....

I was very happy to see the article or interview on Rico - More Rico!!!!!

I think the buyout will show some great things down the road.

It is very difficult in keeping a Magazine alive.... Especially if you are a one or two title publisher - cash flow becomes nill - and without good capital - it eventully either 1. sells out to advertisers and what they want to see or 2. Just goes away all together....

Enough of my publishing nonesense...

I have to say that the JJ - has been extremely helpful in my own education on motorcycles and style.... I do lurke on here a few times a day - and try to keep my posts to a minnimum - and worth something....

Now as for The Horse......... Man - I have to say I buy the mag - but thats mainly because I am a neo Magazine freak - and will always be one. It definitely needs some insurgence in the worst way..... The bikes.... man - leave me scratching my head a bit....

I will say - that there are some issues - that have some great Bikes in there - and I keep those mags around....

I now move on to - DICE Mag............. Hands down brings it each and every issue....

There is not one issue of Dice - that I do not obsesses over - and wish there was more more more..........

It takes a lot of money - and time to put a magazine together and I give it to Matt and Dean for what they are able to do - each and every issue....

I have learned a ton - just looking at pics in Dice and picking up on things that they cover.....

Very Well Done......

Please do not change - or it could ruin its class...

Long live Dice...........

And the JJ of corse!!!!:) :) :)

Man this is a long post.....

I sure hope it wasn't gay - :D

I got it at Tower Records and I think Walmart even has it.
Fuck Walmart, I hate that place, the local one charges you $1 if you come in with shoes on.
I guess I'll go if I have no choice, with cheap prices come a cheap experience.
What the fuck! They charge a dollar is you are wearing shoes?:D Yeah I never go in the one by me either but you asked who had it. Try Target maybe or Barnes & Noble.
I just picked it up at Books a million. What a cool fuckin mag. The content and variety is awesome and the paper is neato.

If I'm not mistaken - Books a Million is a Florida only chain.

Your best bet would be Barnes and Nobles or possibly even Borders...

Good Luck...
