Ok, I have a new barnett brake lever from rask. i have a 71 conical front brake. i bought a brake cable for a 71-72 triumph. i have brand new brake shoes, adjusted as far out as possible without dragging. when i hook this cable up, it seems theres too much inner cable & not enough housing. i have to dial the barrell adjuster all the way out, (with only about 2 threads in the lever perch) - for it to even grab enough to slow me down (while rolling down the driveway 5mph).

WTF?
anyone know of a solution? (aside from cutting & soldering, i dont trust my life to my soldering skills)

What kind of cable setup do you have off of the brake arm is it one of those pinch type clevices on the arm?? If so pre load the brake arm pull the cable tight on the pinch clevice and tighten it there that will solve your problem if that is the style you are running like old HD type...

i wish it was like that. seems like the only adjustment option i have is the damn adjuster on the lever. the brake is a dual leading conical so the housing just sits in a cable stop on the rear brake arm & then the lead anchor sits in another stop in the front brake arm.
