Located in North Hollywood, CA, Franz and Grubb Engine specializes in engines and mechanical parts for vintage Triumph motorcycles. This allows us to concentrate on what we regard as the most important part of any motorcycle. We believe in top quality work within a reasonable time frame, at a fair price. Whether you need a rocker box gasket or a piston is sticking out of the side of your engine case, we can help.
Our website is finally up and there are several technical articles as well as a little more info about the shop. All JJ'ers feel free to stop by for coffee when in the area. Thanks, Dan

Dealing with Dan has been excellent.
I bought the Franz & Grubb preunit foot rest kit and also their rigid p/u trans bolt(2) and a truck load of Kibblewhite PM valve gear (for 3 engines) and am very pleased to recommend these guys _ and they are much clearer about whats what with the kibblewhite stuff (if you've ever tried to figure out the kibblewhite web site you'll appreciate what I am saying) :)

Triumph degree wheels!

It can be a nightmare to accurately set camshaft timing on a Triumph without a degree wheel. This 7" wheel is .050" thick aluminum, is rigid and flat, and is anodized and laser engraved for maximum visibility. The center hole is 7/16" to fit the crankshaft rotor stud on most Triumph engines, and is made in USA.

You will not find this book for sale anywhere else, and it is a great resource for anyone who is racing, building a vintage engine, or just wants to understand more about camshafts.

Hylomar Authorized distributor

Hylomar is some seriously amazing stuff. Due to distribution changes in the US it has been hard to find for a while (or hard to pay for). We now have a fresh supply and have become an authorized Southern California distributor. We date code our stock of all chemicals so they will always work as intended! For more info see our website https://www.fagengine.com/collections/hylomar-products

Loose exhaust stubs on Triumph heads have been an ongoing problem for decades. If your threads are loose but not completely gone this product may work for you.
Hylomar EAP5 exhaust assembly paste is a water based, asbestos free paste that cures with heat. As it is heated it expands and cures, filling abnormalities in flanged and threaded joints.
We have used this in our shop successfully to cure the loose exhaust stub dilemma without expensive and complicated repairs.
Priced at $12.95/ 140g tube, EAP5 WITHSTANDS 1000º C /1800º F!!!

13 years ago when I joined the JJ, it was a lot different than it is now. Anyway a lot of people have come and gone, a lot of them are still riding and building cool bikes, and a LOT of shops have gone out of business since then.
Anyway my shop is still open for some things, and still have some of the best parts for Triumphs in the world.

If you are still on here and want to check out my site, use the promo code ITUSEDTOBECOOL for free shipping on anything in the USA.

It could be cool again, but it a lot different now. Bikes are still fun though. Thanks, Dan
