On the wrong computer so I don't have a pic, but I built a jig for doing frame modifications like that.
It locates the neck, clamps either the lower tubes or motor mounts, and locates and clamps the axle or other pivot point.
Lock down the neck and lower tubes, cut loose the rear, reposition the axle where you want it, weld back up.
There's a pic in the "what's in your garage" thread where I'm goosenecking a triumph single...
