Forgot to mention that moly grease I used in the spring assembly is some stinky stuff I agree those hubs sure are a unique option glad I could save it(y)

This was Thursday got about 10 blocks from home adjusted idle and got about half a block and she just quit like I hit the kill switch pushed her home...
I rolled the dice on the old mag and lost it was sure fun for the short ride.
Found my bth Magneto lastnight is hammered slip ring is busted up locked mag up good news tho the auto advance unit gear came loose on taper prob once it locked up saved the fiber gear from damage I'm sure Ed Turner designed that way.

Got another Kc2 in route. to be continued.....

sweet. Nice to see 'the hub of death' is still popular. may ditch mine as i wanted best of both worlds with a tight(ish) fender/tyre look, net result is gouges out of the tyre over bumps. but hey, oval racers used to cut their own treads ?.
similar time with magneto on first ride but with out damage, drive gear just slipped on taper.
all the best, keep at it.

I am certain I recently read, and did not invent, the small factoid that Lucas, or another British mag mfgr, offered a little hammer for the sole purpose of setting the mag on the tapered shaft. I'll see if I can find a citation for that claim if anybody gives a shit, or (especially) wants to bet.

That bike is real good looking. Surprises me a little that you didn't stray a bit from your mockup pictured years ago. Nice!

Well I'm happy to know what "reman" means, but I think it's immodest to call your own work "fab."

Ammeter/switch holder is well made. But (no offense, I have to ask) is it finished except for further polishing? Maybe it's predictable to expect its outer edge to follow the instrument's circumference closely, i.e., to simply be a larger circle, and to open out more gradually between the meter's "top" edge and the inboard mounting hole; but that's me, predictable.

theres only a couple of problems in using a sprung hub, the cost of the bearings and their availability is rediculous , & NEVER take them apart unless you use a safety cage !!!, the springs have been known to cause serious injury & harm if ya have never done one, but i'm guessing it ain't ya first race,
the 'Tuffnol' mag drivegear was a great idea, it has saved many an expensive repair,
i used it a lot at college as a medium to practice on Lathes & Mills so ya didnt ram the tools in when learning, I ended up making several mag gears out of it & the gear cutter, made a prett penny on them 40+ years ago, a manufactred weak spot would be handy on many mag fired motors Harleys included....
