I'm building new pipes for my bsa and one of the pipes dips down about three inches from the ground, just in front of the rear tire. is this too low?

As long as they don't drag the ground when cornering , it should not be an issue. It would suck to put all the time in and learn that they scrape when you are leaning in a curve.

I just leaned it over, it has to go pretty far before it touches. I might try to rearrange it a bit.

another factor is when cornering, the fork will usually compress a bit. best bet would be to pop the caps off the fork & let it drop to the lowest possible & then lean it over..... just a thought.

my xs was real low, like 3" at the frame. biggest problem was speed bumps in parking lots. 9 out of 10 would knock the kickstand spring off.

after i loweredand strutted my shovel i scrape both side floor boards and the rear pipe all the time...
