so i got what i think is an evo tranny with my project.....(the only markings on the thing are 'N1455' on the case and the inside of the top cover says...H-D nordic....any insight??)

what do i need to do to mount it in my santee rigid four speed frame??

it has a belt final drive pulley...easy swap to chain??

it is an electric starter, but i have a kicker for it....any pics of a similar trans with the starter flange trimmed off??

what am i looking for primary drive wise to mate to a shovel??
i'd like to run a skinny (1.5-2") belt primary

To mount a 5 speed in a 4 speed frame all you need is the adapter plate. Fabricator Kevin (www.fabricatorkevin.com) sells the best ones on the market.
To swap to a rear chain drive, all you need to do is swap that pulley for a sprocket, you will most likely need to pull the inner primary race from the mainshaft too. You will need a tool for this, dont try to grind it off!

As for the belt drive, I can get you whatever you want. Shoot me an email.

An adapter plate, which you can get anywhere, but I recommend FabKev's.

Yes, the sprockets are pretty much all over the place nowadays.

Should be a bunch in my galleries.
I've been doing it for years.
Check the DarkHorse galleries.
That was the latest one I did.

Use a softail primary.

Yes,its a softail style trans, you will need tranny plate, remove mainshaft race, and besides the sprocket you will need the correct trans seal, spacer, quad seal and nut.looks like it is an aftermarket case with factory door and gearset most likely!

Hope this helps!
