Yes, I've done a search, and everytime someone posts the measurements or plans for an engine stand it is usually buried in a build thread that is not very search friendly.

Got a 50's pre-unit engine and took a look at the prices for stands online . . . no way am I paying that, thinking about picking up some angle iron on the way home from work and measuring & welding up my own as its not brain surgery.

However, if anyone has some plans they would like to share, or has some ideas on whether to include a swivel, I would appreciate it.

I felt the same way when I was ready for my stand. I had just thrown out an old workout bench when I realized the foot weight bar (the one that curves and you put your ankles on the pads to lift for quad type exercises) might just work as the main engine stand bar.

I did some grinding, welding, painting and BAMM now I have my engine stand. Its not pretty, but it's a nice recycled peice of trash.

Good luck, be creative and tell us what you come up with.
