I just got this press release. First time I've seen an actual ride/campout/whatever sponsored by a skate shoe company. Too bad they aren't doing anything in CA.

Are We Out of Our Minds?

Lake Forest, CA - Maybe, but we don't think so. They say inviting our fellow skaters to come on tour with us will be a disaster. We say, "Sounds like a party, Let's Ride!"

This coming June, Emerica, in conjunction with Boost Mobile and TransWorld Skateboarding Magazine, will thunder down the open highways on their Harley Davidson motorcycles, invade America's heartland and pillage campsites in a town near you!

We are taking over and recruiting anyone who wants to come with us as we travel over 1,000 miles of open road! Andrew Reynolds, Heath Kirchart, Ed Templeton, Kevin "Spanky" Long, Bryan Herman, Leo Romero and the rest of the Emerica team will kill the streets on their motorcycles and skateboards, set campfires ablaze and raise a ruckus during this 10-day mission! It will be a truly organic experience with no barriers to cross to connect with your favorite riders.

The Wild Ride is set to start on June 11 - June 20.

Stops include:
June 11: Denver, Colorado
June 12: Hays, Kansas
June 13: Wichita, Kansas
June 14: Kansas City, Missouri
June 15: Columbia, Missouri
June 16: Manchester, Missouri
June 17: Springfield, Illinois
June 18: Driving day--head toward Milwaukee, Wisconsin
June 19: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Save your gas money, and beg, borrow and do anything you can to be a part of this mind-blowing ride. Check out the Wild Ride's official Web page at

"Like any professional skateboard tour, some material and situations may be inappropriate for persons under 18."

being a skateboarder/biker myself - that shit seems like a blast!! a friend of mine who works at a skateshop nearby told me about it a little while ago. id be all over it if they were near the east coast. chances are though that half of the group would be murdered riding through new jersey by oversized SUV driving soccer moms who are talking on their cell phones, putting on makeup & drinking coffee while driving. riding everyday around here is a fight for life.

Skateboards+Bikes...They need some west coast stops. This looks great!
Notice all the spots are in the flat sparsely populated (relatively) parts of the country? Very cool though. I picture Ed Templeton more of a Jawa man myself, though.

I know what you mean. Can't picture the dude on a Harley. Maybe something more like's WhopChop's post-apocolyptic cafe BMW... he is from Huntington Beach, after all.
