El Diablo Rides Again April 18-22, 2007

OK, we've moved the dates forward a month, in pursuit of better weather and more spring break tail. This is also the weekend before Laughlin so any of you industry types that may be required to go to that can hit up our run first, take a break and then gay it up at the River.

The route is the same. We'll try to be more organized, but not very hard. We're planning on staying at the same places, Ruben's in San Felipe and the Bahia in Ensenada. As always, you are welcome to stay anywhere you want, take any route you please, etc.

If you didn't go last year, read the website, especially the Baja Primer. http://eldiablorun.com/primer2.html This ain't your daddy's HOG rally so if you come unprepared, or expecting something different it's your fault for not paying attention to the details. A bunch of people told me this year that the site was really helpfull and that the descriptions were very accurate. Also, check the "FAQ" for answers to the most common questions http://www.eldiablorun.com/faq.html If you still need help figuring shit out, email me at [email protected]

Last year's map can be downloaded here: http://eldiablorun.com/donde.html

We're planning on spicing things up with help from some modest sponsorships this year. We'll be contacting people who went last year and offering them a discount and first dibs on sponsorships. This will allow us to have a little better chase support, some free beer at each location and lots of Mariachi music. If you are interested in sponsorship, email HalWade at [email protected] Magazines who featured it this year were Baja Times, ****** Gazette, Iron Horse (Snow's) and DiCE. I have a feeling next year will get a little more ink.

Just like last year, it is open to any rider on any bike, but we're hoping to see more old Pans, Shovels, Triumphs and weird shit. Cool people like Fredo rode baggers last year and we were glad to have them, so if you have a stock bike and a good attitude, you are more than welcome. We are not inspecting cuff-height or excluding full-face helmets or anything like that. Last year we had everything from Nick's bastard BSA, Keith flaked T120 to Crow's Blue Bitch Shovel, the Puta de Oro, street-figher Ducs, Spartan George's badass pan and Trent's ED Especial just to name a few. If it's on the trailer it better be broke. There will be a brief show on the last day at the Bahia for all bikes that got ridden, with unique prizes again.

Thanks go to Mitch Cotie for doing up this year's artwork, you are a ruler, Mitch! I'll post it in this thread as soon as I resize it down.

Last year was a bitch of a ride with wind and rain, but I think everyone had a pretty good time, especially since they earned it. Personally, I had a bitchin time and can't wait for next year.

The website is the shit!! very good on info
I see no reason why I wont be there again. Last year was a fucking blast even my group rode through some nasty shit to get there (and ride through some nasty shit! haha).

No idea what I am going to build for this run, but I am thinking way out of the box....

I am going to be fighting anyone for that beachfront palapa!!!!!!! ;)

Who's riding from Abq with me??

Did any of the brits bikes have any issues? I'm going to have to rebuild my Triumph motor for this run, just need to know if I should ride the Bonny or run a V-twin motor.

Trent, if everything goes as plan I'll ride with your crew.
April it is then, anyone that wants to ride in a day early and get a fresh start in the AM can camp out at my place here in San Diego. Lots of room on the grass, secure bike parking. Garage full of tools incase something needs a slight tweeking before we head south.
i SERIOUSLY wanna come down for it, but with bth bikes benig 4 speed, not sure how well i could keep up....

Hey Fredo, I'm gonna camp it up at your place first then, but I wanna bed!
Hey 51rat and pOrk I'm going down for sure; probably trailering or
van-stuffing it to Dallas,TX (at my in-laws) and starting from there. Or maybe even meeting up with the Flyrite guys in AZ and riding west from there if they will have me. The "hows" are a little sketchy right now but I'd be willing to share a trailer/van down past the shitty-cold- ass-weather-line if you're interested. I wouldn't worry about the 4 speed, don't we stop every 50 ft for the 1 gal. gas tank guys anyway? :D

i know this is a big chopper ride, but would a cafe honda be welcome?

i've been talking with some buddies about doing baja for quite some time, and this seems like the PERFECT opportunity.

I hear you Nick, I just haven't heard of any brits making a long trip without breaking down. The good thing is that if I can't fix my ride for whatever reason, I'm sure I'll have some help.

Best RUN on the planet! The only way I will miss it, is if I'm dead.
