i know i could "google" this question, but i fugured id get a better answer from you guys. i've wondered this for years but never looked it up. here goes....
in the title song of LOU REEDs new sensations album he's singing about his motor-bike. it's a GPZ. what exectly make/model/style bike is that?

Had to a pre-84, that when the record came out. GPZ's started being made in 80. 1000 and 550. Not much help but narrows it a bit.

Introduced by Kawasaki in '81 as the Z550 GP, by '84 they streamlined the design and called it the GPz550. Had an inline 4, similar to the KZ design, but put out about 65 hp and could hit 127 mph. Not bad for a fi-fitty.
The GPz's also came in a 750, and a 900 that eventually got punched and stroked to a 1000.
In '83 my first "street" bike was a KZ550 that tore shit up, but I always had a hard-on for the GPz's.
And yes,you do beat the nicest people on a kawi.
