i take it that these became popular because norton and trumph had just died off?
No, that is what killed Norton and Triumph off, fast Jap bikes that didn't need tinkering.snortonnorton said:i take it that these became popular because norton and trumph had just died off?
Man, haven't seen one of THOSE in quite a few years now!patch said:Terror triple..
Sixes... yeah, flatmate had a Kawa Z1300, winter time, he's got lotsa miles to get to work, I'm only a mile away, so he used my car, I the bike. Tons of grunt with loud pipes... had a ball on it. I had a chopped CB750 in the shed, unregoed, but use to take it out once in awhile on interstate plates. I sold the Honda and bought a '74 MKIIA Norton 850 roadster... and found out what real grunt is, if you've ever ridden one, you'd know what I'm torqueing about. Ok, the Kwaka's gonna beat the Norton, but a side by side @ 30mph, top gear only, rolling race, the Norton shows the Kwaka the way home.. at least to the next set of lights... That was in the '80sFat Hack said:Man, haven't seen one of THOSE in quite a few years now!
Pretty cool.
The Honda sixes were quite a monster, too...got to ride a couple when I worked for Honda City.
Good time to be young and into bikes...I miss being green back in 86!
I like it...tough as nails and all business. Very cool!!Scorcher said:This is my more modern bike.....
