Love the title btw. Think we've seen that style before on here, but the good part is . . . it never gets old.
Does the Jockey Journal really need another Triumph build??....hell yes it does!!!
I am collecting parts to build my dream Triumph. Last knight I picked up an almost complete 650 lower end. I have a few other parts to go with it. Since I am building a chop top Merc right now the Triumph is my side project. I will update this thread as often as I can. I just hope this car builder can build a bike worth the JJ.
Here is what I have planned for the Triumph so far.
David Bird hardtail 6" strech 2" drop
Banana style girder frontend
around a 160 to 180mm rear tire.
powder coated triumph conical rear hub
the paint job will match My Merc (Silver with blue and black scallops)
I haven't decided on the style of tank yet but im leaning towards a Cole foster style tank.
no front fender
bobbed rear fender
and a vertical oil tank.

How about these IRC GS-11 in 4.60 16...installed a few on different builds and they work out great. Think they have the right look myself.very good point right there.
i still wonder why nobody makes a 16x4.50
I got my Primary cover & Timing cover in. The Primary cover is busted But since I plan on running an open Primary this will not be a problem.
I also got in a set of 650 cylinders, unfortunately they are for a Pre-unit...8 bolt. So I will be selling them along with the 750 case, crank and rods that I have.

Picked up my frame this weekend. It has already been cleaned up some, but I still have to clean up another spot or two. I'm not sure how much it the hard-tail section is stretched and dropped (if any) but I will compare it to my buddies stock Bonnie.

I started cleaning up my frame last night....removing some of the tabs and things I don't need on the frame.

Last night I made a seat pan out of 12ga. I still need to roll the back of it up. I also placed the engine in the frame.

I got my rocker boxes in. I think I am going to shave off the fins and polish them up.

Couple of quick updates.
I welded in a couple of tabs for my seat mount.
And one of my Car Club buddies hooked me up with this cool old skool flashlight that I plan on running for a headlight.
