Assuming I'm running a magneto and no lights, I can just ditch the generator. But is it that simple? I would make a cover plate for the hole. How about the oil slinger? Am I ok without it. And I wouldn't even need the idler gear anymore correct?
Oh, I'm talking pan/knuckle/flathead here.

you can ditch the generator, my pan is running shovel left side case with alternator, it had a generfator casing bolted on the front of the engine when I got it, i removed this and replaced it with a blanking plate / spin on oil filter mount (like a evo sportster)

idler gear is adding knowing except extra friction, extra reciprocating weight and extra weight, if its a race bike you are building everything points to removing it
