is there any reason for getting rid of the compensator?
losing several pounds of steel???
When buying a bike one piece at a time...I figured it would be cheaper and easier to go with just a front sprocket, instead of acquiring all of the compensator parts. Plus, they can be kind of expensive.
Weight, cost, simplicity.
Keeping the compensator smooths out the engine at low rpms.
Needless to say, I got an engine that came with one, and I run it.
