sounds kool... any pics... newer stuff can look nice with the right "old-school" work to them...Spike! said:..A 1998 1200S (Twin plug heads). Already lowered it and "de-eagled" the bastard. I keep staring at it and theres more to change soon. Change is good.

I feel bad (not really) for all those suckers that buy all that eagle shit and slap it on thier bike. Especially a Sportster. Sportsters are suposed to be stripped down and lean, no bags. No windshield. Nothing but the bare essentials. The more I take off of this thing, the better it looks (to me anyway). I hate the mags too, but I may have to live with them unless anyone has some spokers lying about and wants to trade. The 1200S has twin rotors on the front, so I may need something special? Anyway, time to ride.whizzerick said:hahahaha![]()

I've seen pics of a sporty in Freeway magazine that had the mags painted black. The bike didn't look bad, kind of street tracker style. It might not be the look you're after, but it's better than "as cast" mags.Spike! said:I hate the mags too, but I may have to live with them unless anyone has some spokers lying about and wants to trade.

Although I prefer spokes, Nice clean simple mags look good too. There used to be American mags you could buy for HD's. About the most bitchin sandcast mags I've ever seen but if you can find them they are about $1000/set. You can also clean up those factory mags on a lathe if you know someone who's got a lathe with a large enough swing. What I hate are those frigging polished billet flame/skull/tribal crap mags I see on so many bikes nowdays.
Yes, and dual plugged heads are kind of a waste with flat top pistons. Let's see some pics when you get it stripped down.Creepinogie said:And the real ones had kickstarters.
I didn't see the point either, and there must be a reason why all of the motors don't have them..but that wasn't a selling point of the bike. I just wanted a 1200 Sportster because its all I can afford right now, and this one was priced right, so I got it. I was out all day today and really like the way the bike performs. Not traditional by any means, but hey, its a Harley and its what I have for now.Creepinogie said:The sportsters with the kickers didn't have flat topped pistons. but I still don't see the point of dual spark plug heads in those either.
I meant dual plugging an evo is a waste and i don't think there's much of a performance gain with high dome pistons either. At any rate, enjoy your bike , make it your own and let's see some pics!Creepinogie said:The sportsters with the kickers didn't have flat topped pistons. but I still don't see the point of dual spark plug heads in those either.
