Im looking to make up some tabs for a brake rotor setup that Im doing
what material are these lowers ?

I think they are sand cast ?

any clue as to what type of aluminum stock I should buy to weld onto these
I just need to make 2 brake caliper mounting lugs

also Im not gonna be welding them I am going to take them to a welder that does cast aluminum if they are cast
my welding skills with cast aluminum is not up to par yet

I can't help you on the material selection, but make sure he preheats and does his damnedest to avoid warping the inside of the slider.

only a few that talked about welding tabs but not what material etc. they used

In that thread he states he used 6061 material.. hope that helps
