Last day of riding in the fall I thought the clutch cable snapped again, got home and found the cable was fine but the pushrod lever in the kicker cover was pooched.

Pulled the engine yesterday (painting the frame) and decided to dig in. It looks like the lever just sheared off from too much stress. Anybody seen this happeN??

The clutch was always a hard pull, but I figured that was the norm for these bikes. When putting the engine together I installed a Trumpnut pushrod kit, new friction disks and new pressure plate.

Starting to wonder if the clutch hub springs are too tight?? This is where I set them up at..

Any ideas ?

I would think if the clutch cable/pushrod was adjusted correctly, the center lift/adjustment bolt would not be sticking so far out.Look at the inside of the primary cover to see if it has been touching. The springs look O.K. Jack

Thanks for the replies. I'll try backing the screws off a few turns and see if that does the trick. Not sure what else it could be.

I checked the primary and it wasn't rubbing, I dont think the adjustment bolt was set when I took that pic...had just taken the wobble out of the plates. Clutch functions fine, no clunking or grabbing, just hard to pull and then the lever broke off.
