Working with an aftermarket master cylinder with forward controls. There's an adjustment between the lever off the pedal and the MC, I understand the mechanics of how to adjust it but how do I know when I've got it to where I need it?

It's a feel kinda thing.. Just keep messing with the adjustment until there's no pressure at the caliper then adjust to your liking...

My liking would be to get the best out of my banana caliper without the brake dragging.

I always set them with a little freeplay in them. Kinda like toe play in a car clutch pedal.

Leave about 1/16th of a inch clearance, and you should not drag.
