Alp just posted an average speed of 168.139 MPH, should be a record in A-VF (Special Construction- Vintage Fuel), with the bike shown above.

Old record was 149.973 from 2018.

That's awesome. I love the view from the back. The salt seemed very smooth compared to other videos I've seen.

8500+ rpm! Back from El Mirage! This was going to be a test/tune event for the Texas 'Hot Rod Hoodlums' Triumph engine that I just finished by Friday. Turned out that after only ONE run it went 143.460mph... this was on gas/petrol!
It is a 1955 Thunderbird 650cc cast iron barrel/iron cylinder head with .060” over pistons, which puts it in the 750cc class. I wasn’t expecting this type of speed right off the bat. With some tuning/gearing it will perform better!

Dang. I don't know what to say = mute with admiration, I guess.

Is the current record for vintage naked 750s somewhere in the middle 130s?

That's awesome for a start. What is your target? I know the snarky answer is; as fast as it will go, but, most racers and tuners have a goal.

Thanks, seems like it has more potential. I built this engine for a client, they are aiming for the Bonneville 750 stock frame/gas record which is 126.174mph.
