I have a pair of Big twin springer forks and I want to fit a disc brake caliper to them ( London traffic being what it is you need a really good front brake ) has any one done this conversion and give me a bit of advice? Cheers.

Hi Matt.
Did that a while ago on my old springer. The only working way is to set it up like it´s done on the new model forks.

Here´s a picture how it looked...not the best detailed view but the only pic I have...

Hey Matt, I used to fabricate a caliper bracket & spacers myself a few times, but try Steve Schneiderbanger in Germany, he has a complete kit to go directly onto an old springer, linkage and hardware included...(you will need a 10-12mm bore master cylinder though) tell him I sended you..:D

I'm pretty sure that there is a link on Duckmans website to tech site that goes right through exactly what you need to know,if I can find the link I'll post it on here,by the way is that the Matt D i think it is i.e the one having his sportster hardtailed by chopsnbobbers? Just found the link name for you,BlackJacks bike tech,nothing to do with me just similar names.

Cause you told me yesterday when I came down to see you,I'm the one with the XS650,how you doin',I was wondering if it was the same Matt,I was gonna see if he remembered me and get him to say hi to Dean for me,

Allright!! now this is what I'm talking about!! Thanks for all the help people. The 2 caliper kits look good and also blackjacks tech drawing is very clear and spot on so I reckon I'm gonna have a go at building it and then if I fuck up I will just have to go the other route. Pete, I don't know why I didn't ask you too, anyways see you friday my man

Matt,how's it goin?do you remember me?I used to hang around with Dean all the time a few years ago,I'm from swindon,I went down to chopsnbobbers yesterday and saw your bike,then Pete told me whos it was,it looks good,Ive got an Evo Sporty as well,hardtailed,raked,everything custom built by me,if I can work out how to do it I'll post some pics here,otherwise you should be able to get them off Pete soon as he asked me to send some to him.See you later. Funnily enough, it is something to do with me, and if you're in Swindon, I aint that far from you.......

Small world, wouldn't want to paint it though.
