bdl nut problem

i am building a flyrite bobber. i am having a problem with the shouldered nut/seal that goes on the trans shaft.(see pics)the nut seems way to short. i am using an old style 4 spd with a tapered shaft. the bdl is for a newer setup with a splined shaft(i sent the hub and clutch basket to bdl and the put the right center in it)see pics and anybody that can help me please let me know
