I am trying to use my first belt drive for a Evo big twin from bdl for softail style setup. It is a 3 inch open drive. Now here is the question. I already had a hd closed stock primary drive system. Can I use the starter pinion gear assembly from my stock setup or do I have to buy the bdl pinion starter kit or is it one in the same? The outer starter ring looks about the same. Is there a tooth diffence in the pinion gear assembly with the bdl one or is it longer. Thanks

If you ordered it for your year evo it should work with no problem,if its not in the kit you use the old one.

My 3" bdl uses a special pinion gear that fits into the bronze bushing on the backside of the "triangular" starter cover.
