I believe it to be the bushing that is behind the clutch hub, although ive only had my hub taken out in my 72, this is the first bad clutch issue my 64 has had.

I am experiencing issues like I need new clutch plates, only partial throttle power is getting to my rear tire, if I open it past 1/4 throttle the motor just revs up, and doesnt get the power to the wheel.

Due to these issues and about a million brass shards all around in my primary Im guessing its gotta be from behind the hub....Found the main shard behind my tensioner....

It is part of the kickstart gear bushing. In the dry clutch engines the spring that pushes the kicker gear out clips into a groove in the bushing rather than in the gear like the later versions.
