I think I'm gonna start on one tonight. I don't know what to use as a release for my mold though? Vaseline?

We do small fiberglass stuff in my upholstery shop. We use Carnuba wax. Usually I'll apply a coat and buff it off and repeat about 6 times...Then before you 'glass, apply another coat...and let it haze without removing it. The parts pop out of the mold really easy.... I've use our mold for '57 chevy trunk hinge covers atleast a hundred times this way with no problems. It's alot cheaper than buying PVA mold release.

exactly the write up I was thinking of:D he did a great job with the write up and actually finished item turned out pretty nice.
Max wedge I am making a seat also. If you are only planning on making one then save time and just make a foam plug and fiberglass over it them rip out the foam. its only good for one time but will save you hours.then just sand it smooth if you want I can post picks. this way you can finish it in a few hours instead of a few weeks
It's not full fiberglass but i saw one with the back "hump" part made out of the petcock end of a sporty tank. Fit perfect!

freaking damn good idea! that way it can double as an oil tank also for the two stroke cafe guys, like myself.
