How big and complete of a bike, D?
I have to deliver a bike to Memphis on my (roundabout) way
to the SO, but I'm piling both it and Val into the bed of my S10.

sounds like a load already .. but I'm damsure on the crow-fly way from you to Memphis .. it's a intact '71 750 BMW .. wider than long, for your context .. phone's down but I'll getta holda ya ..
