I was talking to a dude today about various metal flake methods/techniques and he suggested using crushed abalone shell. Take a screw driver and chip out the irredecent inside layer, crush it with a hammer, and either add it to the clear or sprinkle it over the wet clear coat layer. Anyone ever tried this? This is definitely something I'd like to try, especially as my neighbors always go abalone fishing. I'd like to also hear some other unique paint techniques.
