Anyone ever see or build a Ducati chop?

13549 Views 66 Replies 50 Participants Last post by  not45blesk
I found these guys on the net - http://www.13choppers.com/13_800.html
can't really find anything else. A buddy of mine has a 916 he wants to get rid of - cheap - the bad news is that the frame is shot. Hence the chop idea.
Any input or ideas?

I've met the dude that builds the 13 choppers. I think his first one was built from a wrecked monster 900. That thing was freakin fast and had a lot of torque. It was rumored to handle well also. I've seen a couple more of his bikes and he rides the hell out of them. They're much prettier now. The parts on the bike would probably be worth more then you'd pay for it.
The 13 choppers guys live up the street from me. It's funny because i normally see him riding around on a regular Ducati. I've seen him on the 900 a couple of times. They're cool, but not very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I've also wondered why chop a ducati? Thats like putting bags on a ferrari.

Why would you?
sell me the duc,. i will get a new frame for it... always wanted one anyways, LOL
They look like LEGO bikes...not my thing.
The cost of parts for Ducatis are killer even in europe, You'd be better to strip it and sell the parts to finance another project !
I don't get it. Take a bike that's sole purpose is to perform, destroy amazing and well thought out engineering, and have an ugly, poor handling, expensive bike.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Saw one at a local event using the 13 Choppers frame and absolutely loved the bike. I think it was one of the earlier frames so it looks a bit different from what they might look like now. I've got a bunch of pics posted on my site - here are a few:

Parts are actually muchos cheaper than most of the other brands.
Something like halve of what the japs are charging.
A new frame would cost you though.

a chop, I don't like it one bit but hey:

Well, so far nothing I have seen has really one it for me - I guess if I pick it up I'll just get a stock frame for it and ride it.
Get It!!!
This is a KTM 950 V-twin by Rooke. It has got to be a hand full.
Let me on this thing.

Ther have been a few in Back Street Heroes and AWOL over the years that have looked way cooler (more traditional than that last abortion).
