I'm gonna put some floorboard tabs on a 78 FX and I'm looking for some tips to getting it at least mostly correct. I have a pair of old beater board I was going to use as a jig but I'm using Prism slingshot clutch and brakes so it's not exactly correct placement, at least not on the left side. Looking at some not too clear blueprints I could make out 4.45" forward of the center of the seatpost tube, which seems to be about in line with where the right side goes when mounted up to the sling shot controls. Another issue I'm having is getting the angle correct. What do you guys usually end up using, or do you just wing it?

I know, but ideally I’d like to have them in the stock position like on a FL frame in case I wind up putting boards on it at a later time. I’m mainly hoping to get them as close to that as I can. I can make my controls where I need them from that.

All i know is that on a rigid HD Frame the left and right footboard tabs are at a different angle.
The 1-1/8" frame downtubes Electra Glide and FX frames do not have a left tab because of the alloy primary.

I believe it’s something like 36 degrees on the left side and 18 on the right. I’m assuming the extra angle on the left is to clear the primary but even still it seems like very specific numbers for a company that appears to like whole numbers where possible.
