Does anyone make a screw in neck stem ? Have and old springer that takes thread in stem. ( 450 Honda ) wanna use the Springer on a Sportster. Are the stock stems threaded ? ( then welded on the bottom ) I ask cause I have an old Sporty tree I'd cut if I can use the stem.. I know one can be made,,but checking all options.

Thanks

Whether or not you could thread an existing XL stem would depend on the length and diameter of the part of the stem that's in the lower fork yoke. It will need to project beyond the bottom side of the yoke to install a jam nut on it so it doesn't loosen. I doubt the length on the stock stem would be sufficient for that. The best solution is to have a hybrid stem machined with the correct threads on the bottom.
