Please understand that I speak from the deepest depths of ignorance. But I can't decide whether your homemade wheel looks both beautiful and like a deathtrap, or just beautiful. The best I can do is to infer, from the quality of your work elsewhere on the bike, that the wheel is probably safer than any genuine Invader ever was. Which, if I understand correctly, doesn't set the bar too high; but still, real nice work. Thanks for the show & tell.

Now and again I get struck by the wild imagination and sheer capability of many JJ contributors. (Then I swallow my tongue and pass out.)

Thanks again for the show & tell, Dutch. Also, thanks for the quote (below). Words of wisdom!

Great. Now I have to root around in this thread's earlier pages to find the narrowed oil tank. What a chore.

What is 17-4 ph?

I sure like the fender struts.

Holes in the preexisting tunnel: Looking at the photos, it seems like the natural/obvious thing to do; but it wouldn't have crossed my mind.

Do you plan to make a pair of personalized roundels to fill the side indentations? Hope so.

Huh. Hmm. Vintage stock decals, that's giving me a modest (possibly half-assed and misconceived) idea, which I'll mull over and then, perhaps, PM you about.

I am glad to learn you're not dead. Hey me neither!

The pedal-powered APC-in-progress is real cool. With your skills, to say nothing of your facility in biting parts, you should find it an easy job to make the thing amphibious.

Oh yeah. That looks several dozen times better; not just in itself, but it works very nice with the frame front downtubes' curve (which ordinarily looks ungood to me, like the engine is a medium-size man in a big man's suitcoat -- like "one size fits all [poorly]).
