i had open belt drive on my chopper decided to go to a closed primary setup. installing starter jackshaft have the sequince of how to assemble it but not sure wich side of the coupler goes wich way im thinking short side to the starter, and also bought it used the six bolts that hold the clutches and springs in how tight are they supposed to be? they were almost completely out when purchased

It depends on what you are calling the coupler. There is a coupler between the starter and the jack shaft, which is installed deep end to starter. There is also a "coupler" that the jack shaft extension and the pinion gear ride in, which is installed shallow end to starter. Clutch pressure plate bolts are torqued to 10 ft/lbs.
